Zhejiang Jinlun has a history of more than 60 years in manufacturing hydropower equipment. Its flagship products include hydraulic turbines and generators, with the single unit capacity up to 100 MW. Important Company History

Successful Development of “Jinhua No.1”

Successfully developed the “Jinhua No.1” fixed-blade axial-flow runner, which was later designated as the ZD760 runner and widely promoted and applied across China.

Manufacturing Base

Was designated as the sole hydropower equipment manufacturing base by the International Center on Small Hydropower (ICSHP) under the auspices of the United Nations Industrial and Development Organization (UNIDO).

First Overseas EPC Project

Successfully implemented its first overseas EPC project in Zambia.

Inspection by Comrade Mao Zedeng

Comrade Mao Zedong inspected the impulse turbine manufactured by Jinlun when visiting Shuanglong Hydropower Plant in Jinhua.

Development and Manufacturing of the 1st Turbine-Generator Unit

Participated in the development and manufacturing of China’s first bidirectional tidal turbine-generator unit.

National Torch Program

Developed and put into production the GZJ735B-WS-420 hydro turbine, which was subsequently included into China’s National Torch Program.

R&D Capabilities

The proprietary “Jinhua No.1” runner was included in the National Series Catalog of Hydro Turbine Runners and has been widely promoted and applied across China for over 30 years, contributing to the technological advancement of the hydropower industry.

The CZN005-WP-250 bulb-type bidirectional tubular tidal turbine-generator unit, developed and put into trial production by the company, was considered as the first turbine-generator unit of its kind in China, receiving the National Key Technologies R&D Program Award and the Second Prize for National Progress in Science and Technology.

In 2010, the HL820-WJ-84 hydraulic turbine was jointly awarded the title of “National Key New Product” by four ministries and commissions, including the Ministry of Science and Technology. The GZJ735B-WS-420 hydraulic turbine was included in the National Torch Program and listed as a “Major Science and Technology Special Project of Zhejiang Province”, winning the second prize in Zhejiang Machinery Industry Science and Technology Awards. It was also recognized as the “First-of-Its-Kind Equipment in Key Fields of Accelerating the Development of the Manufacturing Industry in Zhejiang Province”.

The projects entitled “Study on Cost-Effective Small Hydropower Technologies and Equipment” and “Research on Clean Development Mechanism and Carbon Financing Strategies for China’s Hydropower” were awarded the Third Prize for Scientific and Technological Achievements of Zhejiang Province, respectively.

Because of its participation in, and contribution to, the R&D project involving the turbine model runner ZZ500 for Gezhouba Power Station, the company was honored with an award at the National Science Conference.

In 2019, the project “Key Technologies for Design and Manufacturing of Large-Capacity Reaction Turbine-Generator Units” won the second prize in China’s Machinery Industry Science and Technology Awards.

In 2020, the project “Key Technologies and Engineering Applications of Large-Scale, High-Efficiency Hydroelectric Generator Unit” won the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress of Zhejiang Province, and the project “Full-Head, High-Efficiency Reaction Hydraulic Turbine” was awarded the first prize in China’s Electric Power Industry Science and Technology Awards.
Design Capability

The company boasts independent R&D and innovation capabilities. It adopts CAD, CAM, and CAE for computer-aided design and analysis, and employs CFD and FE to develop proprietary hydropower equipment. Its hydropower equipment has reached advanced technical levels both domestically and internationally.

To date, the company has designed and developed hundreds of new models, been granted more than 50 national patents, and introduced over 20 advanced technologies from home and abroad. The Turbine-Generator R&D Center of Jinlun has been recognized as a provincial enterprise research institute.
Manufacturing Capability

The company has a team of engineers and technicians with advanced technical expertise in hydraulic turbines and generators. It develops and manufactures turbine-generator units with capacities ranging from 1,000 kW to 50,000 kW, and offers over 300 varieties and specifications.

Installation configurations include vertical and horizontal types. Vertical units primarily feature a suspended structure, while horizontal units mainly adopt a pedestal sliding bearing structure. The equipment realizes cooling by means of duct ventilation and enclosed cyclic ventilation, and is properly protected with the use of reliable temperature monitors, detection devices, overspeed protections, and speed measurements.

From design to manufacturing, the company has established a complete set of high-standard processing and manufacturing systems, capable of offering products that embody advanced technology, refined manufacturing processes, reliable quality, and stable performance, which thus have earned widespread trust from customers around the world.

Indonesia Market Planning

Plan to invest approximately USD 5 million in building a 10,000 sq. meter hydropower equipment manufacturing facility in Indonesia’s new capital Nusantara (IKN), establishing a localized manufacturing base.

Leverage the preferential policies of the new capital for its special economic zone to develop high-quality small hydropower investment projects and participate in Indonesia’s renewable energy development at a deep level.

Once put into operation, the factory will first meet the equipment demand of the company’s own invested power plants and then undertake and fulfill orders across Indonesia to improve local supply efficiency.

It will utilize Indonesia as a strategic hub to export products to neighboring Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam and Malaysia, and gradually cover the entire Southeast Asian market.
